PUSUK BUHIT-KABUPATEN SAMOSIR, A MISTERY SUPERVOLCANO, GEOPARK AND HISTORY OF ANCESTOR SI RAJA BATAK LIVING
Kabupaten Samosir dibentuk dengan Undang-undang Nomor 36 Tahun 2003 sebaga langkah awal untuk memulai percepatan pembangunan fisik materil dan spritual di daerah tertinggal Samosir, yang dimekarkan dari Kabupaten Toba Samosir.
Kabupaten Samosir terdiri dari 9 (sembilan) Kecamatan dengan luas 2.069,2 km2, yakni daratan seluas 1.444,25 km2 dan 624,80 km2 adalah danau Toba. Wilayah Kabupaten Samosir di kawasan pulau terdiri dari 6 kecamatan sementara di pulau Sumatera terdiri dari 3 kecamatan. Wilayah Kabupaten ini berbatasan dan berada ditengah-tengah 6 kabupaten dikawasan Danau Toba. Lebih lanjut kondisi umum wilayah dapat digambarkan sebagai berikut :
1. Letak Kabupaten Samosir
Posisi geografis berada pada 2 7’ – 2 45’ LS dan 99 15’ – 99 30’ BT.
Kabupaten Samosir berbatasan di :
o Sebelah Utara Kabupaten Karo dan Kabupaten Simalungun
o Sebelah Timur Kaupaten Toba Samosir
o Sebelah Selatan Kabupaten Tapanuli Utara dan Kabupaten Humbahas.
o Sebelah Barat Kabupaten Dairi dan Kabupaten Pakpak Barat
Curah Hujan berkisar antara 1.700 – 4.000 mm per tahun.
Temperatur berkisar antara 17 C – 29 C dan kelembaban Udara rata- rata sekitar 85,04 %.
2. Jumlah Penduduk
Berdasarkan data tahun 2007 (pendataan BPS) jumlah penduduk Kabupaten Samosir adalah 131.078 Jiwa atau 22.191 KK, yang tersebar di 111 Desa dan 6 Kelurahan. Pada umumnya bekerja 83,8 % di sektor Pertanian dan sisanya di sektor Perdagangan, industri dan jasa.
3. Akses ke Kabupaten Samosir
Sesuai dengan letak geografis yang disebutkan di atas, akses masuk dan keluar Kabupaten Samosir dapat dilakukan melalui Haranggaol Tiga Ras, Tiga Raja, Prapat Kabupaten Simalungun via Kapal melintasi Danau Toba atau Ajibata dan Balige Kabupaten Tobasa via Kapal Motor Ferry menuju Tomok Kecamatan Simanindo Kabupaten Samosir; atau Jalan Darat dari Tele ke Pangururan Ibu kota Kabupaten Samosir.
Jarak tempuh rata-rat dari Medan ke Kabupaten Samosir via jalan darat 4-5 jam, sedang dengan menggunakan Kapal atau Fery 1 jam. Di Pelabuhan –pelabuhan penyeberangan tersedia sarana transportasi lain seperti Speed boat dan Kapal charter dengan harga kompetitif.
Kabupaten Samosir dengan Danau Toba yang indah memiliki potensi seni budaya yang layak dikembangan dan merupakan tujuan wisata di Sumatra Utara yang sudah terkenal di seluruh Indonesia bahkan di mancanegara. Namun beberapa tahun terakhir ini kunjungan wisatawan ke berbagai daerah tujuan wisata di Indonesia mengalami penurunan yang sangat signifikan, termasuk ke kawasan Danau Toba dan Pulau Samosir. Hal ini disebabkan oleh krisis multi dimensi yang terjadi di kawasan Asia dan Pasifik khususnya di Asia tenggara termasuk Indonesia sehingga merubah pola perjalanan wisatawan yang sangat pesat dan beralih kekawasan Eropa dan Amerika.
Mencermati besarnya potensi budaya dan panorama alam yang indah, maka sejak tahun 2004 ditetapkan visi Kabupaten Samosir adalah menjadi Kabupaten Pariwisata 2010 yang indah, aman dan berbudaya dengan agribisnis yang berbasis lingkungan untuk kesejahteraan masyarakat.
Berbagai upaya telah dilakukan Pemerintah bersama Stakeholders dan masyarakat untuk membangun Samosir menjadi Objek/Tujuan Wisata/Tourism Destination Area (OTW/TDA) serta meningkatkan jumlah kunjungan wisatawan seperti:Promosi, pembangunan sarana pariwisata, perbaikan jaringan transportasi, dan lain lain, namun belum menunjukkan hasil seperti yang diharapkan.
Krisis multi dimensi yang melanda Negara Indonesia menambah dan sangat menggangu stabilitas ekonomi serta keamanan, sehingga sangat merugikan masyarakat dan para stakeholders pariwisata.
Dalam peningkatan dan pembangunan Pariwisata harus didukung oleh beberapa unsur seperti :
1. Objek Tujuan Wisata/Tourism Destination Area (OTW/TDA) yang memiliki keindahan, keunikan dan kelengkapan fasilitas pendukung
2. Pelayanan (Services) yang memenuhi standard minimum menuju kepuasan tamu (Customer Satisfaction)
3. Sistem Transportasi (Transportation System) yang berlangsung terus menerus serta menjamin kemanan dan keselamatan penumpang (passangers)
4. Komunikasi (Communications) yang memiliki akses umum dan luas
5. Masyarakat (Community) yang sadar wisata, ramah, disiplin dan lingkungan hidup bersih
6. Fasilitas lain (Others Facilities) seperti penginapan, restoran dan hiburan/ atraksi Seni dan Budaya;
Semua infrastruktur dan suprastruktur Pariwisata tersebut harus dikembangkan, dibangun dengan pendekatan tiga pilar di dalam konsep “Samosir Membangun”, yaitu :
a. Pembangunan dilakukan oleh masyarakat itu sendiri
b. Pembangunan dilakukan oleh masyarakat bersama–sama dengan Pemerintah
c. Pembangunan yang dilakukan oleh Pemerintah
Rencana Strategi dengan cara/pendekatan diatas, diharapkan dapat memulihkan kondisi kepariwisataan Samosir dengan terus menerus mempromosikan Samosir sebagai kawasan Pariwisata yang aman dan menarik untuk dikunjungi.
Konon menurut penuturan para orangtua yang diceritakan turun temurun, kira-kira abad ke 13 di Gunung Pusuk Buhit (tinggi 1995 m atau puncaknya pada ketinggian 2.157 m dpl ), disebelah Barat kota Pangururan (ibukota Kabupaten) berdiam moyang orang Batak yaitu Si Raja Batak. Istrinya seorang Putri nan Cantik, si bungsu dari 7 bersaudara yang sering kali mandi di sebuah Danau di lereng Gunung. Ke tujuh putri kayangan mempunyai kebiasaan mandi bersama dan setelah selesai kembali ke kayangan/Langit, demikian seterusnya. Sebagai lelaki, Raja Batak menginginkan seorang Istri, dan ia bertekad untuk mewujudkan keinginan tersebut, dengan cara menyembunyikan pakaian dari putri bungsu, sehingga tidak bisa lagi kembali bersama saudaranya ke kayangan. Akhirnya si Raja Batak mempersunting seorang gadis kayangan menjadi isterinya, dan kelak menjadi nenek-moyang orang Batak (5 sub etnis).
Dari keluarga si Raja Batak dan isterinya terlahir 2 putra yaitu : Guru Tatea Bulan dan Ompu Raja Isumbaon, demikian selanjutnya hingga sekarang ini Si Raja Batak beranak-pinak, berkembang dengan marga-marga yang diperkirakan sudah ada generasi yang ke 25-30. Orang Batak hidup sebagai masyarakat yang berkembang (sering disebut bangsa Batak) dengan adat-budaya yang khas, pola hidup, bahasa dan aksara, pakaian adat serta garis/ hubungan kekerabatan yang spesifik (Dalihan Natolu) yang diwujudkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hal ini menjadi salah satu bidang penelitian dan objek kunjungan wisatawan.
Kabupaten Samosir, sebahagian besar dikelilingi oleh perairan Danau Toba seluas. Daratan dan Danau memiliki potensi Wisata yang beragam, baik dari sisi produk wisata maupun pasar wisatawan. Dengan alam yang indah dan kekayaan budaya yang dimiliki sangat potensial, menawarkan berbagai daya tarik wisata yang layak untuk dikembangkan menjadi Obyek Tujuan Wisata (OTW). OTW Kabupaten Samosir di kawasan Danau Toba menyimpan potensi untuk Wisata bahari, sedang Daratan Pulau Samosir dan pegunungan sekitar Danau Toba potensial dikembangkan menjadi Wisata Alam, Wisata Rohani, Wisata Agro dan Wisata Senibudaya. Kabupaten Samosir menyimpan benda-benda budaya, situs sejarah dan atraksi seni yang unik turun temurun. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa daya tarik wisata di Kabupaten Samosir terdiri dari daya tarik yang bersifat tangible (berwujud) seperti daya tarik wisata pantai-bahari/danau, museum dan situs, panorama alam, agro-forestry maupun wisata olahraga; sedang yang bersifat intangible (tidak berwujud) seperti sejarah dan budaya masyarakat tradisional serta event budaya (pesta dan senibudaya) yang menjadi peristiwa pariwisata.
Sesungguhnya kawasan Danau Toba Kabupaten Samosir sudah lama dikenal oleh wisatawan mancanegara dan wisatawan nusantara (diperkirakan berkembang sejak tahun 70-an), karena keindahan panorama Danau Toba, keunikan budaya dan adat istiadat khas Batak; demikian juga Pulau Samosir yang menyimpan potensi alam, bagai kapal besar berlayar di Danau Toba yang terbentang luas, pulau diatas pulau dan danau diatas danau; masyarakatnya yang hidup dari potensi pertanian, perkebunan, perikanan dan peternakan serta industri kecil, sehingga sepanjang zaman Kabupaten Samosir tidak pernah mengalami kekurangan pangan.
Hal yang paling menarik tentunya legenda terjadinya Danau Toba, serta Pusuk Buhit sekitarnya sebagai tempat-asal muasal leluhur orang Batak (Si Raja Batak), serta peristiwa geografis/geologis terjadinya Danau Toba yang disebut menjadi salah satu keajaiban dunia, hasil proses Supervolcano mendampingi supervolcano Yellowstone di Wyoming benua Amerika.
a. Sejarah si Raja Batak
Si Raja Batak nenek moyang orang Batak , menurut ceerita yang dituturkan turun-temurun diturunkan oleh Yang Maha Pencipta dari langit didalam ruas bambu (mapultak sian bulu, madekdek sian langit) di puncak gunung Pusuk Buhit yang menjadi tempat kediamannya yang pertama Gunung Pusuk Buhit di sebelah Barat Kota Pangururan, sampai sekarang banyak menyimpan misteri kehidupan si Raja Batak. Istrinya seorang Putri nan Cantik bungsu dari 7 bersaudara putri kayangan yang sering kali mandi di sebah Danau di lereng Gunung. Ke tujuh putri kayangan mempunyai kebiasaan mandi bersama, bermain air dan setelah selesai kembali ke Langit, demikian seterusnya. Suatu waktu, si Raja Batak yang masih sendiri menginginkan seorang Istri sebagai pendamping, dan keinginan tersebut diwujudkan dengan menyembunyikan pakaian salah satu dari 7 bidadari, dan ternyata yang ketiban rejeki adalah putri bungsu, sehingga tidak bisa lagi kembali bersama saudaranya ke kayangan. Sang Pencipta (Mulajadi Nabolon) telah menetapkan bahwa si Raja mempersunting seorang gadis kayangan menjadi isterinya.
Menurut sejarah perkampungan pertama dari Si Raja Batak berada di punggung Pusuk Buhit disebut sebagai daerah Sigulatti dan disanalah berdiri rumah si Raja Batak, tidak jauh dari sumber mata air Batu Sawan yang airnya berasa jeruk purut.
Dari keluarga Raja Batak lahir 2 putra yaitu : Guru Tatea Bulan dan Ompu Raja Isumbaon, demikian selanjutnya hingga sekarang ini orang Batak telah menyebar ke seluruh dunia dengan tetap membawa/memiliki adat-istiadat, budaya, karya dan marga-marga sebagai identitas khas orang Batak. Bahkan orang Batak menyebut diri sebagai “bangsa” Batak karena mereka memiliki adat-istiadat sebagai way of life, bahasa, aksara, kesusasteraan (kesenian), benda-benda pusaka, daerah asal muasal serta aturan kekerabatan (Dalihan Natolu) dan perwatakan/karakter yang khas. Orang Batak tidak lagi sekedar tinggal di daerah asal (bona pasogit atau bona ni pinasa) tetapi telah menyebar dan bermukim di berbagai belahan bumi/benua.
b. Sejarah Danau Toba, Pulau Samosir dan Pusuk Buhit.
Menyebut Pulau Samosir mengingatkan orang akan dongeng seorang petani miskin yang mencari ikan di sungai, mendapatkan seekor ikan yang menjelma menjadi gadis cantik, hingga sang petani menjadikannya sebagai isteri dengan sumpah janji bahwa sang petani (si Toba) tidak akan pernah membuka identitas isterinya jelmaan ikan, jika tidak maka isterinya akan kembali ke habitatnya. Si Toba dan isterinya melahirkan seorang anak (dinamai Samosir), yang tidak patuh pada orangtuanya, sehingga tanpa disadari si Toba memarahinya dengan makian yang membuka rahasia sang isteri. Sumpah telah dilanggar, janji telah diingkar maka isteri dengan menangis pergi meninggalkan suaminya si Toba menuju sungai asalnya ditemukan. Hujan lebat turun hingga membanjiri desa/tempat tinggal keluarga si Toba, sementara Samosir anaknya yang mengadu mengikuti ibunya turut menangis, ibunya terus memanggil nama Samosir, namun Samosir pergi menyelamatkan diri ke daratan (Pulau Samosir). Hujan yang terus menerus telah menyebabkan banjir besar dan menggenangi lembah yang akhirnya menjadi Danau Toba.
Danau Toba yang terbentang dengan luas 1.265 km2, panjang 90 km dan kedalaman rata-rata 450 m, dan ketinggian 950 m diatas permukaan laut, merupakan danau yang terluas dan terdalam di dunia, tampak bagai samudera air tawar tak bertepi dengan air jernih, dan diatasnya terbentang dari Utara ke Selatan Pulau Samosir.
Pusuk Buhit dan kawasan Danau Toba (dataran tinggi Toba) menurut penelitianadalah Supervolcano (gunung api raksasa) dengan tingkat letusan mencapai skala 8 VEI (skala maksimum Volcano Explosivity Index); dan material yang telah dimuntahkannya lebih dari 1.000 kilometer kubik.
Supervolcano yang pernah terjadi dan diindentifikasi di muka bumi adalah Sv.Toba di Indonesia dan Sv.Yellowstone di Amerika.
Menurut pakar peneliti, letusan supervolcano Toba pertama terjadi pada saat gunung apinya berpusat di Porsea (Kabupaten Toba Samosir) yang meledak 1,7 juta tahun yang lalu dengan tingkat letusan 8 VEI yang memuntahkan batu-batuan gunung api dan abu panas (welded tuff) dengan semburan panas mencapai temperatur 1000 derajat Celsius yang dapat melelehkan Silika (SiO2). Material yang disemburkan dengan ketebalan 500 meter. Letusan berikutnya terjadi 400 ribu tahun yang lalu dengan kekuatan yang sama 8 VEI, sehingga gunung api tersebut membentuk kaldera di kawasan Porsea.
Gunung api kedua muncul di Harnggaol dan meledak sekitar 800 ribu tahun yang lalu yang membentuk kaldera Haranggaol, sedang gunung api yang ketiga adalah gunung api Sibandang yang meletus dahsyat pada 75 ribu tahun yang lalu, letusan berikutnya 30 ribu tahun yang lalu yang akhirnya membentuk letusan kepundan berupa cincin (ring fracture eruption) yang keluar melalui kepundan yang melingkari Pulau Samosir sekarang.
Banyaknya material yang dimuntahkan dari gunung api menimbulkan terbentuknya ruang kosong di tubuh gunung api, dan dengan pengaruh gaya tarik bumi, tubuh gunung api tersebut runtuh begitu dalam dan terbentuklah kaldera Sibandang. Pulau Samosir adalah tubuh bahagian puncak dari gunung api Sibandang yang runtuh. Kaldera Sibandang secara evolusi kemudian berisi air yang melimpah dari dataran disekelilingnya yang akhirnya terkumpul dan terbentuklah Danau Toba yang sekarang ini.
Menurut studi paleoantropologi, bahwa akibat debu letusan terakhir gunung api Toba di Sibandang banyak spesies primata (monyet) yang mati apalagi dengan suhu semburan 500 derajat Celsius sehingga apa yang ditimpanya pasti jadi arang, mungkin termasuk batu bara muda di kawasan Lintongnihuta sekarang. Saat ini setelah letusan gunung api supervolcano Toba, muncul gunung api baru yaitu gunung Pusuk Buhit di Pangururan/Sianjurmulamula Kab.Samosir dan gunung Sipiso-piso di Merek, Kab. Tanah Karo.
Seorang geologist Belanda Van Bemmellen menyebutkan bahwa Pulau Samosir terbentuk dari aliran lava gunung Batak, yang merupakan erupsi dari dua vulkanik terbesar, sebuah letusan vulkanik terbesar di dunia. Aliran lava membentuk Danau Toba, seluas 294 km2, panjang 87 km dan lebar terjauh 31 km, sementara luas Pulau Samosir disebutkan 640 km2, dan puncak Samosir berada pada ketinggian 1.657 m diatas permukaan laut, sedang kedalaman Danau Toba adalah 525 m di kawasan Haranggaol.
Keunikan dan keotentikan supervolcano Toba dapat dijadikan sebagai objek penelitian ilmiah dan menjadi Geopark di kawasan Asia mendampingi geopark Langkawi Malaysia.
Dengan latar belakang sejarah purbakala orang Batak dan hasil penelitian geologi yang menyebutkan kawasan Danau Toba sebagai kaldera letusan gunungapi, maka Pusuk Buhit layak dan strategis untuk dijadikan sebagai Icon Pariwisata Kabupaten Samosir.
