PEMIMPIN OTENTIK DITINJAU DARI KULTUR BATAK TOBA.
Pemimpin otentik adalah pemimpin nyata dirasakan rakyat dalam perikehidupannya sehari-hari. Bukan hanya sekadar nama tanpa peran nyata melindungi, mengayomi, mengarahkan, menginspirasi, menularkan spirit optimisme, serta memberi rasa aman dan nyaman bagi yang dipimpin.
Pemimpin otentik ditinjau dari kultur budaya Batak Toba adalah seorang pemimpin (raja-red) “Dijolo soihuthonon, dipudi sipaimaon, ditonga-tonga siharungguon” dalam terjemahan bebas bermakna; di depan diikuti, di belakang di tunggu, di tengah dikerumuni yang berkorelasi dengan kultur budaya Jawa, “Tut Wuri Handayani, Ing Ngarso Sung Tulodo, Ing Madiya Mbangun Karso. (Thomson Hutasoit, 2014;77).
Kepemimpinan seperti itu tentu mempunyai berbagai elemen penting sifat-sifat kepemimpinan Batak Toba sebagaimana diuraikan Thomson Hutasoit dalam bukunya berjudul ‘Kepemimpinan’ ditinjau dari kultur budaya Batak Toba (2014) antara lain;
1. Raja urat ni uhum, Namora ihot ni hosa (raja/pemimpin sumber hukum yang benar, hartawan membantu orang tak berdaya).
2. Monang maralohon musu, Talu maralohon dongan (Menang melawan musuh, Kalah melawan teman/kawan).
3. Pamuro so mantat sior, Parmahan so mantat batahi (penjaga tanpa anak panah, penggembala tanpa cambuk).
4. Siduduk na ginjang, Sibalon na bolak (mampu mengatasi persoalan kecil dan besar).
5. Parsipitu Lili (pintar, cerdas, jenial, bijak dan bajik).
6. Hariara na bolon (kuat dan kokoh).
7. Pardasing so ra teleng, Parhatian so ra monggal (jujur, adil tak memihak).
8. Paramak so balunon, Parsangkalan so mahiang (terbuka pada setiap orang tanpa membedakan status sosial, pintu terbuka).
9. Partogi pangihutan, Panungkunan pandapotan (pemimpin pantas diikuti, labuhan jawaban pertanyaan).
Sifat-sifat kepemimpinan berbasis kultur budaya Batak Toba yang diwariskan leluhur kadangkala terabaikan dalam kepemimpinan era modern. Padahal, bila dikaji dan dianalisis berbagai pemimpin hebat dan tersohor dunia menerapkan tipe-tipe kepemimpinan sangat berkorelasi linier dengan kepemimpinan ditinjau dari kultur budaya Batak Toba dengan sebutan berbeda.
Di zaman millenia ini sering diperbincangkan “kepemimpinan kerakyatan atau pemimpin pro rakyat” sekadar teoritis, retorika ataupun wacana. Tapi, secara implementatif sulit diwujudnyatakan dalam hidup bermasyarakat, berbangsa dan bernegara. Tipe kepemimpinan berdasar kultur budaya dianggap kuno, kampungan, ndeso serta ketinggalan zaman (out of date) apalagi muncul pemikiran keliru dan sesat pikir menganggap tipe kepemimpinan bangsa asing lebih unggul dan lebih hebat dari kepemimpinan berbasis kultur budaya rakyat Nusantara. Hal itu bisa dibuktikan secara empirik, kurangnya penggalian model-model kepemimpinan tumbuh berkembang di bumi Indonesia.
Mengimpor model-model kepemimpinan bangsa lain, sadar atau tidak sesungguhnya kekeliruan besar paling tak masuk akal. Sebab, kepemimpinan paling efektif, sesuai, serasi, selaras diterapkan adalah kepemimpinan berbasis nilai-nilai kultur budaya telah menjadi jati diri spesifik masyarakat, bangsa bersangkutan. Salah satu contoh konkrit, Batak Toba memiliki karakter demokratis, egaliter mendambakan pemimpin otentik, “Dijolo soihuthonon, dipudi sipaimaon, ditonga-tonga siharungguon” dengan sembilan sifat pemimpin telah diuraikan sebelumnya.
Sekalipun kepemimpinan Batak Toba lebih banyak diterapkan pada kepemimpinan informal (bukan pada pemerintahan formal-red), akan tetapi kepemimpinan tersebut terbukti mampu menembus ruang zaman dan waktu mengatur dan mengarahkan tatanan hidup Batak Toba hingga di zaman millenia.
Seorang pemimpin harus mampu memberi contoh tauladan ditengah masyarakat. Karena penghormatan, penghargaan, ketundukan kepada seorang pemimpin didasarkan pada kredibilitas, kapasitas, kejujuran, keberanian, kompetensi, integritas pemimpin tersebut. Bukan karena sanksi atau hukuman serta dipaksa instrumen kekuasaan sebagaimana model-model kepemimpinan instrumen kekuasaan.
Sudah saatnya bangsa ini menggali tipe-tipe, tipe kepemimpinan rakyat Nusantara sebagai model kepemimpinan nasional berjati diri Indonesia agar sesuai dengan nilai luhur budaya warisan leluhur.
